AdvoConnection will
enable patients to find advocates and others who can help them
navigate medical and health care challenges. This
information will be provided to patients in the US and Canada. The main function of the site will be providing patients with access to listings of patient advocates and support services. Any non-medical, but necessary services patients need, from organizational, doctor visits, medical research, and insurance assistance, to home health, nursing homes and support groups will be included on this site. Advocates and support services will be able to provide almost any information they would like in their AdvoConnection listings, including names, addresses, contact information, services provided, specialty areas, references, and credentials. Photos and links to their own websites will be included. Services to build webpages for those who don't have them will also be available. Patients will be able to search for listings by location and type of service. |
Any individual or organization wishing to be listed when the site launches is invited to do so for free. The listing will remain free for the first 90 days after site launch, and after that there will be a charge to be included. Charges will be based on the size of the organization, with pricing starting at $100/year. Estimated site launch is Summer 2008.
